Job Title: Production Manager Location: Wheeling, IL Job Summary: We are seeking a hands-on and experienced Production Manager to lead daily operations at a baked goods manufacturing facility. This role involves overseeing production schedules, managing labor, and ensuring the highest quality standards are met. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food manufacturing, continuous improvement, and leadership. You will be responsible for driving efficiency, ensuring compliance with FDA regulations, and fostering a positive work environment for the production team. Key Responsibilities: Oversee daily production activities, ensuring efficient operations and adherence to production schedules. Manage and mentor a production team across multiple shifts, with 20 direct reports during peak season. Ensure compliance with FDA regulations and food safety standards; familiarity with USDA standards is a plus. Develop production schedules, labor plans, and manage purchasing requirements. Implement lean manufacturing principles and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste. Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and other production metrics to identify opportunities for improvement. Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure all equipment is functioning properly and safely. Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in food manufacturing, ideally in a leadership role. Strong knowledge of FDA regulations and food safety protocols; USDA experience is an advantage. Proven experience leading production teams, preferably across multiple shifts. Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies. Proficient in Excel and data analysis for tracking production metrics. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Why Apply?
