Your role will be:* Removes burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from the workpiece, using file, hand grinder, or wire brush* Assists machine operators in setting up machines and stack, mark, pack, and transport finished workpieces* Measures workpiece dimensions using a rule, template, or other measuring instruments to determine the accuracy of machine operation* Performs minor machine maintenance, such as oiling machines, dies, or workpieces* May rivet and spot-weld workpieces* May tend machines that fabricate and assemble sheet metal products* Plate and structural layout using squares, center heads, tape measure, and other measuring devices* Operate hand torch, hand plasma, and track burner* Operate an overhead crane and jib hoist If this is you, come join us!* 2+ years of related experience and training or an equivalent combination of education and experience* Experience reading and interpreting documents such as fabrication drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals* Previous experience in heavy manufacturing
