Private Flex Home Health Aide / Healthcare Assistant/PCA/DSP Individual Client at Private Residence | North Mankato, MN Overview PRIVATE CAREGIVERS NEEDED at a lovely estate with great pay and perks. Seeking to fill Saturdays 8a-3p and to have you on our team to pick up flexible, as-available shifts. This is a light-duty care position with ample opportunities for downtime and relaxation. We're seeking high-quality people who enjoy seeing the difference they make just by being around. Direct care experience is great, but we'll provide training to all successful candidates, whether you're a philosophy student or nursing pro. YOU'LL BE HELPING HELPING a disabled young-professional adult who is intelligent, educated, employed, and capable of directing his needs. Your care helps him remain working and at home with his family, so this is a rewarding opportunity to gain deep healthcare knowledge and experience by assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) and health maintenance. PAY is $20/hr plus ample paid vacation/sick/personal days off and frequent bonuses. CURRENT OPENINGS are for Saturdays 8a-3p weekly, and you'll also be eligible for our "flex pool," for which you'd receive full training and be notified of any open shifts immediately or into the future. If you want the shift, you'd take it; otherwise, no obligation. Typically, at least one shift per week opens up; many more in the case of staff illnesses etc. Short-notice openings typically come with generous bonuses. Typical shifts are 7a/8a to 3p, 3-10p and 10p-3a or 7/8a, but many times we're happy with whatever coverage we can get. REQUIREMENTS include dependability and timeliness, excellent communication, good judgment, vehicle and license,a reasonably positive attitude, ability to use a smartphone, and ability to briefly lift 50+ lbs. Applicants must be 18 or older, living within 30 minutes of North Mankato, and able to pass a thorough background check. INTERESTED? Email XXXX@gmail.com Description of Responsibilities Primary Duties Provide general light-duty care and monitoring; check wellbeing, vitals, and safety. Ensure basic needs are met. Be available during shifts to respond rapidly to requests for aid. Assist in repositioning or sitting up in bed. Assist with basic use of BiPap ventilator (mask on/off, machine on/off, check/fill humidifier). Assist with personal hygiene and grooming. Assist with water intake. Assist with limited medication. Assist with basic toileting and GI care. Assist with tubing replacement or flushes; assist with maintenance and cleaning of other medical equipment. Assist with basic range of motion and physical maintenance, which may include percussion. Assist with retrieving or using basic items. Maintain a hygienic environment by washing hands and disinfecting used surfaces. Occasionally disinfect equipment such as BiPap and nebulizer. Keep regularly used items clean. Report or summarize daily info for others during shift changes. Secondary Duties (less frequent) Assist with basic occasional household maintenance, possibly including: Disinfect surfaces; occasional dusting. Vacuum, mop, or sani-wipe. Remove obstacles and clutter or store items as directed. Keep sinks and toilets, towels and rags hygienic by using as specified/dedicated and occasionally cleaning. Change and clean bedding. May assist in training other aides.
