Locations: VA - McLean, United States of America, McLean, VirginiaPrincipal Learning Consultant, Tech CollegeAs a member of the Learning Design & Delivery team for Tech College, the Principal Learning Consultant will be responsible for partnering closely with key business partners in Capital One's Tech organizations to assess performance needs, design learning offerings, and measure the success of ongoing or stand-alone learning programs.This role will own the partnership with key stakeholders to translate business priorities into effective & engaging learning materials, with a focus (though not exclusively) on digital-first learning methods. This role will also focus on collaborating with other Principal Consultants within both Tech College and the broader group of Colleges within the Job Family Learning team, in order to streamline processes, share best practices, and stay up to date on emerging evidence-based learning & tech trends..This role is a great fit for you if:You take a consultative approach to your work projects and can act as the learning Subject Matter Expert for non-learning stakeholders, successfully understanding their needs and recommending strategic solutionsYou have expertise in needs analysis, learning design, and learning measurement, and can both vision & execute on an end-to-end learning deliveryYou know how to balance learning best practices with business needs & constraints, serving as a trusted partner to key business stakeholdersYou value creating learning experiences that are both effective and engaging, solving business needs while delighting and engaging the learnerKey Responsibilities:Own the end-to-end learning strategy for specific programs and stand-alone offerings that support the learning & performance needs of Associates in Capital One's Tech organizationIdentify and create learning offerings in partnership with key stakeholders, both internal to Tech College and external, to deliver on a learning strategy aligned to Capital One's Tech prioritiesIncrease the effectiveness of learning solutions by identifying and recommending format/modalities that create an optimal learning experience and demonstrate an understanding of adult learning principlesDesign and develop curriculum, programs, learning materials, and performance support tools (including self-study, classroom, e-Learning, etc.) based on industry design standards for a given modality (includes traditional, web, and mobile design)Demonstrate an aptitude for, knowledge of, and agility with new learning technologiesRepresent the Tech College Learning Design & Delivery team in broader project efforts, ensuring that the end-to-end of the learning experience is considered alongside project timeline goalsEngage with project team members to enable clarity of goal; conduct on-going reviews to ensure outcome is on track to meet client needsPartner with other Learning Consultants and Instructional Designers on the team to support the ADDIE process, as appropriateCreate evidence-based assessments and evaluation methodsAssume personal responsibility for projects and follow-through to completion with minimal need for direct supervisionWe recognize that many life paths can contribute to interest in this role. We value all experience, whether gained in a classroom or through other paths, and invite everyone who meets the below requirements to apply for this role.Basic Qualifications:High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certificationAt least 3 years of experience in Training Design and DevelopmentAt least 3 years of experience with learning content development tools (Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, Adobe Design Suite, and Camtasia)Preferred Qualifications:At least 4 years of Training Design and Development for digital modalitiesAt least one year of experience in UI/UX and graphic designAt least one year of experience with mobile content creation, curation and deliveryAt least one year of experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, and video editing software)Project Management Professional Certification or knowledge of Agile methodology At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.
