General Description of Work: Responsible for the supervision and implementation of all classroom activities according to the MN Rule 3 standards and regulations for the specific age group of children at BCCC. Classroom Facilitation: Provide direct care to a maximum of ten (16 with and aide) preshoolers ages 33 months through pre-kindergarten. Plan individualized developmental curriculum for preschoolers ages 33 months through pre-kindergarten and share plans with the BCCC director on a weekly basis. Provide all necessary care for each child's needs: eating, sleeping, toileting, nurturing and behavior guidance. Record observations of each child to aid in the development of individualized curriculum plans. Document behavior concerns and report to the director. Share developmental progress with parents as appropriate and 2 times per year for conferences. Maintain a neat, orderly, and sanitary classroom at all times. Provide supervision of student teachers and volunteers assigned to the classroom. Participate in all training deemed necessary by the BCCC director and as required by the State of MN for certification. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Must be at least 18 years of age Must be lead teacher qualified according to the MN Rule 3 requirements Must demonstrate competence and share knowledge of preschool care and development through planning and interacting with children. Willingness and desire to enhance knowledge and abilities in early childhood education with emphasis in preschool care. Agreement with BCCC program and willingness to model the program in word and action including a willingness to participate in the evaluation component. Ability to multi-task Self-starter Prompt and thorough in job performance. Creative and logical problem solving Use a variety of resources for planning and developing curriculum. Demonstrate ability to be a team player. Reliable and Trustworthy Personal Attributes and Values Adhere to BCCC's Employee Code of Ethics Desire to serve God in ministry to children, parents and families A pleasant, gentle, grace-filled manner toward others Possess and demonstrate excellent integrity and character Composed and professional Strong team player and self-starter Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks as assigned Ability to lift at least 40 lbs. unassisted Other Duties as Assigned Daily shared duties of cleaning and organization of materials in the center. It is impossible to predict the many requests and assignments that can and will be made on an employee. Flexibility and a cooperative spirit are crucial characteristics of the person who holds this important position and for the successful operation of BCCC.
