Job Title: PostgreSQL Database EngineerLocation: RemotePay Rate: $45hrWe are seeking a PostgreSQL Database Engineer to support a government client working on a cloud-based conservation analytics platform. The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology and a collaborative mindset, contributing to innovative solutions in an engaging team environment.Position Overview:In this role, you will play a key part in data management, database creation, design, and optimization. You will contribute to the maintenance and administration of data models, participate in data mapping sessions, and work closely with an Agile team to develop scalable solutions.Key Responsibilities: * Import and export data between different database systems. * Develop and manage efficient PostgreSQL databases to support an analytics platform. * Design and implement complex back-end queries and scalable data integrations using PostgreSQL and/or PostGIS. * Maintain a thorough understanding of business processes and application procedures. * Perform data modeling, normalization, and conceptual/logical database design. * Archive source code regularly in a version control system. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define Acceptance Criteria for user stories in an Agile environment. * Share knowledge and collaborate with other developers to improve product quality.Qualifications: * 4+ years of experience with PostgreSQL in supporting high-performance data analytics platforms. * 4+ years of experience in PostgreSQL performance tuning, query optimization, and permissions management. * Strong SQL skills, including experience with spatial queries. * Familiarity with data engineering concepts such as ETL, data processing, data warehousing, and data modeling. * Experience using ETL tools and frameworks to develop data pipelines. * Experience with cloud-based database tools (e.g., AWS services like S3, DMS, EC2). * Strong communication and teamwork skills. * Experience working with big data technologies is a plus.Education: * Bachelor's degree or equivalent job-related experience.Preferred Experience: * Familiarity with conservation data or environmental datasets. * Experience with PostGIS for geospatial data integration and automation. * Experience with geospatial data visualization tools (e.g., QGIS, ESRI). * Experience creating and publishing web mapping applications. * Familiarity with FME for data transformation and model development. * Experience with Python for scripting and automation. * Knowledge of database deployment tools (e.g., Liquibase or similar). * Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.Why choose Addison IT?* Pay: We negotiate high salaries using U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics* Benefits & Bonuses: You are eligible for medical, dental, vision insurance benefits, 401K, and monetary bonuses* Permanent Employment: Many of Addison's job openings lead to potential permanent employment* Connections: You connect directly with hiring managers from renowned organizations* Options: You are presented multiple employment options near your home* Professional Development: You are provided hiring process advice, resume revision, and employment term negotiationIND 005-009Addison Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
