Job description PRIMARY FUNCTION: Responsible for cleaning contracted buildings and office space.North Jersey Friendship House is seeking a part-time Porter Floater, who will also be responsible for covering various locations, as well as cover when someone is out. The part-time Porter Floater will also be responsible for working on crews with members and supervising members while working. The shift: Monday through Friday (9:00am to 2:45pm), with weekend flexibility. Must be able to work weekends when needed. The ideal candidate must be friendly, a self-starter, and able to take direction well. The Porter Floater will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks to ensure occupants a clean and safe environment. The porter must also be able to manage, direct, teach and educate members and staff on how to do the job.Essential Functions Include:1. Cleans and maintains cleanliness of offices, classrooms and lobby floors, windows, doors and walls.2. Cleans and maintains cleanliness of restrooms; includes floors, sinks, counters, commodes and fixtures.3. Clean and maintain cleanliness of elevators and/or stairwells.4. Monitor the interior and exterior of the building and grounds during the day to make certain the grounds and common areas are free of debris.5. Empty garbage containers in common areas, offices, classrooms, and restrooms ensuring general areas are free of litter.6. Supervises and escorts members to and from sites and supervises members working on sites. Reports back to the maintenance supervisor as needed.6. May perform other duties as assigned. Requirements: Minimum 1-year previous maintenance / janitorial experience. Ability to handle multiple projects. Must have a valid driver's license and transportation. Floater Porters will use an agency vehicle to drive to and from individual work sites.
