The Town of Hillsville Police Department is accepting applications for the position of Police Officer. Applications can be picked up at the Hillsville Police Department and can be returned by hand delivery to the Hillsville Police Department or can be E-Mailed to the Chief of Police, Shannon Goad, at shannon.goad@hillsvillepd.orgThis is an exciting opportunity for any individual looking to advance their skills and knowledge as a police officer. Whether you are just starting in law enforcement or have a tenured career as an officer, this job will provide you with a supportive atmosphere and a strong network in the law enforcement community. Benefits Include:*Minimum hourly rate starting at $22.38*A 2% Increase following a probationary period (approved specialized schools and training increase entry level salary consideration)*Excellent benefits package including fully paid individual health insurance*Take home car program*Specialized Schools and Training Opportunities (salary commensurate)*Voluntary traffic safety overtime*Vacation leave, sick leave, family medical leave, and paid holidays*Open door access to supervisors*Virginia Retirement System and Hazardous Duty PayAll applicants must have a minimum of a high school education or GED and a valid Driver's License issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
