Job details: This position will be responsible for managing the 4-H & Youth Development programming in Pickens County by providing educational opportunities for youth in 4-H club meetings, coordinating local activities, and preparing youth for project and judging events. Provides leadership for Program istants, volunteers, and teen leaders in delivering 4-H and Youth programs · Implements the CAES Civil Rights/Equal Opportunity plan · Utilizes the ability of and works closely with advisory groups, community leaders, public officials and representatives of intended audiences to analyze data, identify needs, and ist in developing educational programs · Develops a Plan of Work that is equitable in meeting the varied socio-economic needs of the county · Develops and conducts relevant interdisciplinary programs with others based on critical issues · Collaborates with other agencies and community groups to plan and implement programs · Conducts promotional efforts to expand the public's view of extension programming · Utilizes current research data on emerging issues in program development and teaching · Demonstrates personal interest and involvement in community by participating in and supporting civic/community activities/organizations and networking with community leaders This job requires frequent night meetings, some weekend work, and attendance at out-of-county meetings. A valid driver's license and a personal vehicle for official duty travel are required. Provides leadership for volunteers, Para-professionals, and teen leaders in delivering 4-H and Youth programs. Develops plan of work that is equitable in meeting the needs of the varied county socio-economic situations. Develops and conducts relevant interdisciplinary programs with other staff members based on critical issues. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a related position required. If lacking an advanced degree, a min of 3yrs (counted from the date of hire) as a public service professional is required before appointment consideration to public service istant. Significant profess of accomplishments must be documented showing clear and convincing evidence of moving toward excellence in the criteria appropriate to the work ignments. Once an advanced degree is earned, the applicant may apply for a public service istant faculty position through the current appointment process. A review must occur in the employee's 6th year as a public service professional (counted from the date of hire) to determine status for possible faculty appointment or for counted employment as a public service professional.
