The ideal candidate will assist in all aspects of litigation, including drafting complaints, responding to written discovery, and handling motions. The role requires excellent persuasive writing and analytical skills and the ability to work in a time-sensitive, multitasking environment.Duties and Responsibilities:Assist the firm in all aspects of litigation, including but not limited to:Drafting complaintsResponding to written discoveryResponding to demurrersResponding to motions for summary judgmentPrepare concise and organized memoranda with recommendations to the firmArgue various motions, including:Motions to strikeMotions to compel initial responsesMotions to compel further responsesMotions to consolidateMotions to dismissMotions to amendMotions to vacateHandle various aspects of litigation, from filing pleadings to discovery and motionsCollaborate with colleagues to implement policies and develop improvementsCommunicate with clients and discuss options, strategies, and solutions at critical junctures of their case to ensure they understand their options and make informed decisionsMaintain adequate case, file, and related records to ensure practical completion of projects assigned and assist in the evaluation of the work productRequirements:Law degree from an A.B.A. accredited law school with excellent academic credentials3+ years of legal experienceMust possess excellent persuasive writing and analytical skillsAbility to use persuasive writing and analytical skills in a time-sensitive, multitasking work environmentPrior experience in summarizing third-party records, drafting briefs, responding to discovery, taking and defending depositions, and motion workPrior trial preparation experience is beneficialFamiliarity with the standard practices, rules, and procedures of California LawStrong legal research and writing skillsKnowledge of proper format and citationsEducation and Certifications:Law degree from an A.B.A. accredited law schoolBar License RequiredSkills:Excellent persuasive writing and analytical skillsAbility to work in a time-sensitive, multitasking environmentStrong legal research and writing skillsKnowledge of proper format and citationsStrong communication skills for client interactionsAbility to collaborate with colleagues and implement policies
