Position detailsRxConnect processes 3 million prescriptions per day for CVS Health. The mission of Performance Testing (PT) is to avoid unanticipated issues and adverse change impacts in Production by validating non-functional requirements. All software and hardware changes for RxConnect go through PT before being approved for Production.Successful applicant will work with cross functional groups to develop and document performance test strategies for new projects, releases, and initiatives.Ensure appropriate levels of performance testing are conducted before any changes are introduced to a production system.Develop Performance Test Strategy documents and gain consensus on PT test cases and performance criteriaCollaborate closely with project Architects to determine Performance Test scenariosDefine test completion and success criteria (i.e. entry / exit criteria)Provide input and review of PT test casesProvide subject matter ability to uncover issues with system infrastructure componentsAssess and lead adoption of new technologies being incorporated into the application or infrastructureProvide troubleshooting ability for on-demand analysis of PT issuesProvide recommendations and observations for the PT testing processLead formal reviews of PT test results with all pertinent parties (Architecture, Infrastructure and, Development) as appropriateParticipate in informal review of diagnostic testsReview and provide input to test tools design documents (e.g. load simulating tools)Review System Design Documents and Non-Functional Requirements DocumentsParticipate in project estimating in support of team forecastingNecessary backgroundPerfect candidate will have10+ years of IS/IT background, including 5+ years of performance engineering and performance test principles and practices.5+ years background with multiple components of info technology infrastructure, including multiple operating systems, distributed systems, Web-centric architectures, various hardware components (servers, disk and tape subsystems), network infrastructure components, systems management tools and database management systems.Understanding of performance testing measures (CPU utilization, response time, network latency, think time etc.).Strong Skills in Database Concepts, primarily OracleExposure to Basic Database Design, SQL QueriesPreferred RequirementsAdvanced degree or MBAVery strong people skills - including verbal and written correspondence , meeting management, conflict resolution, team building.Written correspondence abilities: ability to provide clear instructions, and concise updates.Strong technical acumen and analytical skills: innovation, collaboration, risk/benefit analysis.Ability to work with little or no supervision and minimal assistance.Operational background with at least 2 of the following: UNIX, Oracle, Networking, Middleware or Storage, Java/J2EE technologiesWork background with Unix commands and shell scripting.Hands on background with Web Services implementation (Apache Cxf or any other)Knowledge of oracle technologies Oracle 11g (Understanding of Query plans, AWR Reports etc.)Knowledge of concepts related to Heap, Memory, Threads, CPU and how they influence performance and scalabilityKnowledge of best practices for coding and design.Demonstrated background writing proficient, performance oriented codeBackground with performance engineering tools such as profilers, heap/thread/verbose analyzerBackground with performance measurement tools such as AWR reports, JProbe, VMSTAT, NETSTATUnderstanding of any version management tool like SVN, VSS etc.Background in performance testing and performance analysis of large scale applicationsKnowledge of performance lifecycle in conjunction with development lifecycleEducationBachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science or related position required.Business OverviewIt's a new day in health care.Combining CVS Health and Aetna was a transformative moment for our company and our industry, establishing CVS Health as the nation's premier health innovation company.
