The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications, with a focus on mechanical arts and some exposure to electrical and software technologies. Superior academic credentials and admission to a State Bar are required, with registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office preferred. Strong writing, interpersonal, and communication skills are essential for success in this role.Duties:Draft and prosecute US and international patent applications, primarily in the mechanical arts and occasionally in electrical and software technologies.Conduct patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses.Perform due diligence investigations and support patent litigation and transactional matters.Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and foreign associates.Requirements:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Admission to at least one State Bar (Indiana preferred).Ideally registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.2-4 years of experience in patent prosecution, focusing on mechanical arts.Familiarity with electrical and software technologies in patent applications.Skills:Excellent drafting and analytical skills.Strong understanding of patent laws and procedures.Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.Education and Certifications:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Admission to a State Bar (Indiana preferred).Registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (preferred).
