This role is based in New York City and is part of a leading Intellectual Property Department specializing in Chemical, Biotechnology, and Pharmaceutical practices.Duties:Draft and prosecute both domestic and international patent applications.Prepare legal opinions regarding biotechnology and related technologies.Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis in the area of patent law.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to protect and manage intellectual property assets.Maintain organized records of all patent-related activities and processes.Requirements:A minimum of three years of experience in patent counseling and prosecution.Proven track record of drafting patent applications and legal opinions.Education:PhD in Biological Sciences (Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics) or a closely related field.Certifications:Current registration to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).Skills:Strong legal writing and research capabilities.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.High level of analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.Outstanding academic achievements, ideally with experience in a law firm setting.Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
