This is an exceptional opportunity for an accomplished trial lawyer to take on a leadership role within a well-established firm that values flexibility, initiative, and professional growth. The ideal candidate will bring extensive trial experience, a robust work ethic, and the ability to manage a substantial caseload from initiation through trial and appeals. The position offers significant opportunities for career advancement, mentorship of junior associates, and the chance to work on high-profile cases across the firm’s multi-state footprint.Duties:Manage a high-volume caseload from start to finish, including trial and appeal processes.Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.Take depositions, make court appearances, and engage in necessary motion practice.Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop and implement litigation strategies.Conduct detailed analyses of medical records, insurance policies, and other case-related documents.Perform legal research and jury verdict searches to support case preparation.Develop and present comprehensive insurance coverage opinions.Maintain strong, professional relationships with clients, ensuring all client guidelines and deadlines are met.Oversee junior associates, providing mentorship and delegating tasks as necessary.Record and maintain accurate billable hours in compliance with firm policies.Requirements:Minimum of 8+ years of experience in defense litigation, with a focus on personal injury and automobile negligence cases.Proven trial experience with at least ten (10) jury verdicts.Strong background in handling UM/UIM, PIP, and other civil actions.Experience managing high-volume litigation and clients.Expertise in negotiating settlements, mediations, and arbitrations.Strong writing, research, and analytical skills with a commitment to producing high-quality work.Admission to the New York State Bar and United States District Court for the District of New York (admission to additional jurisdictions such as PA and/or CT is a plus).Experience with Federal Court litigation is advantageous.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Certifications:Licensed to practice law in New York State.Additional Federal Court experience is a plus.Skills:Excellent trial and deposition skills.Strong organizational and case management abilities.Ability to develop and execute legal strategies.Advanced writing, research, and communication skills.Ability to mentor and lead junior attorneys and support staff.Job Location:New York City, NYBenefits:Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.Comprehensive benefits package, including health, life, short-term, and long-term disability insurance.401(k) retirement plan.Flexible work arrangements.Generous paid time off.Opportunities for professional development and career growth.
