JOB TITLE Parking Enforcement Part-Time/Hourly Non-Exempt/Non-Union DEPARTMENT/DIVISON Public Safety Department REPORTS TO : Community Relations Officer SUMMARY OF FUNCTION Enforces various parking ordinances throughout the City of Oak Park. DESCRIPTION Operate a motor vehicle safely while observing parking violations and conditions; Interact tactfully and effectively with those encountered in the course of the work, including hostile and irate citizens; Write clear and concise records, reports, declarations, and citations; Understand and follow oral and written instruction KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Familiarity with streets and locations in the City of Oak Park and surrounding area. Effective communication skills EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High School Diploma, or completion of General Educational Development (GED) Possess valid Michigan Driver's license Clean driving record SALARY RANGE - Hourly rate of $17.00 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS/DISCLAIMERS: The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
