Part Time General Assistant Dundee University, Dundee GBP 10,667 19.5 hours per week We are looking for a part time General Assistant to join our Accommodation team based at our student accommodation sites for the University of Dundee. As a General Assistant you will be responsible for providing high quality cleaning and accommodation support service in the residences. During term time, your duties will mainly be cleaning communal areas, including toilets, common rooms, laundry rooms, and stairwells. In the summer vacation you will also be required to deep clean vacant bedrooms and kitchens and provide a housekeeping service to our summer guests. Working pattern is 5 days from 7, primarily Monday : Friday, however some weekend working will be required especially during the summer period. The role of General Assistant will include: : Providing high quality cleaning services within all areas of the residences: Follow and complete work programmes as directed: Identifying and reporting any hazards and faults to ensure a safe environment is maintained: Maintaining stock levels and carrying out checks of equipment, reporting any faults: Ensure equipment and materials are used in accordance with guidelines and legislation: Act as the first point of contact to our customers, responding positively to complaints and service breakdowns Skills and experiences: : Previous experience of undertaking general cleaning duties or working in a housekeeping environment: Some practical experience in operating cleaning machinery: Working knowledge of Health and Safety regulation: Excellent customer service and communication skills: Ability to work in a team and help colleagues as and when required Why work for us?
