Bookkeeper - Accounts Payable

We are rapidly expanding and are looking for a mortgage accounting clerk to support our lending team. Our ideal candidate will have experience in accounting or bookkeeping -- mortgage accounting is preferred, but not required. We need someone with a team-player attitude, great communication skills, and a keen eye for details and discrepancies. If this sounds like you, apply now! Responsibilities: • Calculate reports that include taxes, interest, monthly payments, principal, and insurance for real estate mortgage loans• Record accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, and bank deposits in the general ledger• Alert accounting manager or mortgage loan officer of any discrepancies on loan applications or financial records• Assist the accounting department by completing clerical duties and providing general clerical support• Confirm and input data such as mortgager name, legal description, loan number, loan amount, and payment amount into accounting software Qualifications: • Keen attention to detail and strong verbal and written communication skills are assets• Multitasking and organizational skills are imperative• Proven accounting experience is necessary; previous experience in human resources, or as a securities clerk, control clerk, or staff accountant is valuable• Microsoft Excel, accounting software such as QuickBooks, and 10-key data entry skills are necessary• GED, high school diploma, or equivalent is required; some college is helpful Compensation: $30 - $35 hourly About Company: The Lending Group Co is a retail mortgage lender that provides a complete range of premium mortgage products and services to meet the needs of its clients.
