Modern Services Worship Director (August 2024) PURPOSE: Lead Summit Church in designing and providing modern worship services which are compelling and relevant, especially to those early in their faith journey. SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS: A heart for God and a passion for helping others connect with God through worship. Team Player with ability to collaborate with other ministries & build teams to lead. Strong organizational, verbal, and written skills and attention to detail. Ability to build relationships and community within the church body. Gifted vocalist that can lead passionate worship (Preference given to those who can lead from the guitar or keyboard.) Experience with (or ability to learn) Planning Center, Pro Presenter, Ableton Live, LoopPrime, Logic Pro (or comparable DAW), live sound systems, and livestreaming systems. Ability to recruit and develop people in order that they might engage in ministry in the context of the Worship Band and Tech Team. Lifelong learner who will attend continuing education events. Must complete Safe Gatherings Training, background check & psychological profile testing. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Degree or certification in Music, Worship, Ministry, or related field preferred. 3 years’ experience or more serving as Worship Leader preferred. SUPERVISION: Directly to Jeff Huber (Lead Pastor) Indirectly to the Directional Team WORK WEEK: Approximately 40 hours POSITION CLASSIFICATION: Full-time, lay, exempt COMPENSATION: Total Salary Package with benefits of $60-75K depending on education and experience (Relocation expenses are provided & Housing Assistance is available). BENEFITS: As described in the Personnel Policies and Procedures Manual for Lay Employees RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead worship and rehearsals for weekend services and other special services. Foster culture of spiritual and technical growth within Modern Service Worship Teams. Work with Creative Director & Sound Engineer to coordinate Tech Team needs for Modern Services each weekend and other special services as needed. Ensure volunteer opportunities within Modern Worship are up to date in Planning Center and all volunteers are trained on how to use Planning Center. Regularly devote time and energy to creative disciplines including songwriting, exploring creativity in the context of gathered worship, and exploring and finding new songs to add to the worship song catalog. Recruit and develop new team members and leaders for Worship Band. Work with Creative Director to build presentations within Pro Presenter for regular and special services at least 1-2 weeks in advance. Ensure Planning Center is updated and maintained 2-4 weeks in advance for regular and special services with service details and team positions. Work with interns, college students and/or youth who are interested in leading worship. Meet at least monthly with direct supervisor. Maintain CCLI Licenses and Reporting. Other duties as assigned and agreed to. GENERAL EXPECTATIONS: Commitment to grow & mature as a disciple of Jesus, leading others out of a deep inner life with Jesus.
