This is a benefited, full time position working Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm. No weekends or holidays required. Shift times may vary based on department needs. You may be floated to other Scripps Clinics on an as needed basis. Located in La Jolla on Genesee Ave. Why join Scripps Health? Cohesive team works hard and knows the significance of team Friendly work environment with patients, providers, and teammates Supportive & encouraging leadership Your job duties: Predominantly back-office responsibilities but is expected to help with front-office duties on an as-needed basis Rooming patients, checking vitals, assisting with procedures Clinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocols Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment Organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician's practice Relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person Collecting patient data in person and by phone Documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review Administering medications specifically directed by the physician Scheduling of appointments and procedures Complete and accurate message taking Routing messages to the appropriate area for direction Order and referral entry, acquisition of pre-certifications Setting up of cases in EPIC plus basic registration and updating of demographics #LI-JS1 Qualifications Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills: Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program, or Medical Assistance Certification, or a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman Required Certification/Registration: BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA) Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification: One year of experience as an MA in an outpatient setting OBGYN clinic experience
