Job DescriptionLegal Entity: Honda Dev. and Mfg. of Am.,LLCBusiness Unit: Power Unit/Chassis Dev BUDivision: Power Unit Development DivisionWork Location: Auto Development CenterHiring Manager: Nathan ThuerkShift: 1stCareer Level: 4Job Grade: Exempt-2 Job PurposeTo develop and guarantee the correct powertrain hardware package required to meet all developmental, marketability, and regulatory targets. To actively manage test and development schedules and data input from multiple departments and divisions across HDMA. Key Accountabilities Strategy: Gather the latest global hardware specs from 4MOC / ADC and compile a comprehensive plan for application to future, responsible development models. Advise: Work directly with all powertrain related function groups to guarantee harmonious hardware maturation schedules and lead critical meetings to resolve conflicts between competing groups / departments Problem Solving: Support investigation of hardware / calibration issues that come up during development and develop corrective hardware plans as necessary Communication: Clearly and concisely report the status of hardware / calibration maturation to both function management side as well as team side Authorize: Lead regular test data review meetings and MaruQ preparation events to validate the hardware and calibrations that are being applied to a development. Qualifications, Experience, and SkillsMinimum Educational Requirements: BS or MS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical EngineeringMinimum Experience: 8 years related experience or equivalent level of education and experienceOther Job-Specific Skills:Proficient PC skills, including but not limited to excel, PowerPoint, and MatlabJob DimensionsNo. of Direct Reports: 0No. of Indirect Reports: > 10 full time associatesFinancial Dimensions: > $250KDecisions Expected Setting the hardware application and verification plans for engine Verifying the hardware and calibration meets all marketability and regulatory requirements Resolving hardware based concerns that arise from developmentWorking ConditionsAssociate will work on the actual engine / vehicle with hand and power tools. Candidate can expect to spend a portion of their time working in the lab – confirming their systems on bench, on the car, or in thermal chambers. (20%)Associate will perform analysis and documentation, then communicate findings to varying levels of management.
