Job Title: Mechanic HelperJob Location: Vineland NJ Position Summary Provides for the inspection and maintenance of the plants machinery, grounds, buildings, andequipment and assists with the repairs of same. This is the maintenance helper level position in theclassification and is expected to perform the job functions under direct supervision by their supervisoror the lead tech. Basic Functions (include but not limited to) 1. Support without hesitation General Plant Safety, Food Safety, Food Defense Initiatives andGood Manufacturing Practices with an understanding that these are absolutes and arePriority #1.2. Assist the Lead Mechanic with the repair and maintain machinery and equipment inaccordance with diagrams, operational manuals and manufacturing specifications3. Perform preventive maintenance functions as directed using the SAP Tablets.4. Lubricates all machinery with the correct lubricants.5. Work from a ladder safely.6. Paints and/or repairs any surfaces in or around the building and grounds.7. Removes and/or replaces defective parts using hand and/or power tools8. Maintains a safe and clean working environment when doing repairs.9. Follow and enforce company GMP procedures and Policies.10. Know where emergency ESTOP and START/STOP buttons are located11. Follow the Lock Out/Tag Out procedures for machine and utilities when necessary12. Must be safety conscious.13. Perform special requests by Lead Mechanic/Maintenance Supervisor14. Directs and supports contractors engaged in repairing and maintaining facility equipment andgeneral building maintenance such as painters, landscapers, snow and ice removal and generalgrounds maintenance activities.15. Must be able to work well with all levels of personnel whether individually or in a teamenvironment, and especially must be able to interface and communicate with line operators,maintenance techs and office staff to assist with repairs and troubleshooting16. Willing to work any shift and overtime as required.17. Perform other routine dutiesPage 2 of 2 Qualification Requirements High school diploma or GED certificate required. Will need to have their own tools to perform daily maintenance tasks. Must be able to successfully pass an oral/written test to demonstrate required knowledge/abilitiesrequired of the position. Prefer 1 years prior maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. Basic mechanical aptitude, basic math skills and ability to use basic gauges and measuring tools arerequired Performs other duties/responsibilities as assigned by Management Physical Demands Works in a manufacturing environment where the employee Must be able to move 75pounds at a distance of 25 feet or more. Must be able to stand for an 8-10 hour shift (sometimeslonger) with regular breaks while performing repetitive work. May be required to work overtime,weekends and/or holidays as needed. The employee is regularly exposed to heat, fumes, odors, dust,oil, slippery floors, moving parts/equipment and risk of electrical shock. Earplugs, safety glasses, beardnets (if facial hair exists), hairnets, and steel-toed / slip-resistant shoes are required in the plant inaccordance with company GMP and safety standards.
