POSITION SUMMARY :This position is responsible for planning production of WIP and finished goods and the planning and purchasing of packaging and RM to support target stocking levels and assure attainment of our service levels to our customers. This position is also responsible for supporting the team members with process oversight/improvement and direct coordination with the Plant Production, Customer Service and the SI&OP teams. Your primary duties and responsibilities will be: Draws up schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each assigned operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders. Creates and Releases work orders for production utilizing JDE. Works with SI&OP team for forecasting and inventory status Dates orders based on what is achievable and works with customer service on the current order status and proactively notifies of schedule impacts to customer service. Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods to prevent stockouts and excess inventory. Adjust production plans accordingly to maintain optimal stock levels and optimal change overs in the plant. Confers with department supervisors to determine status of production. Monitor production daily utilizing work order status reports. Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions. Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, procurement, quality control, and logistics, to ensure smooth production flow and resolve any issues that may arise. Develop and maintain healthy supplier relationships. Confer with vendors to obtain product information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule. Utilize the Master Production Schedule to plan material/component availability, enter new component purchase orders, and communicate purchase orders to suppliers. Schedules timely delivery of materials; evaluates material supply and demand; establishes ROP/ROQs based on forecasts and Plan for every part visible in histogram. Assists receiving with delivery discrepancies (missing paperwork/overages/shortages.) Discuss defective or unacceptable goods with suppliers to resolve commercial issues. Develops, finalizes, and communicates the material requirements plan for the site that meets customer demand on timely availability. Ensure on time deliveries by follow up and working with supplier and logistics as needed. Proactively advises management of material events that can potentially disrupt the production plans. Work cross functionally to explore mitigating options. Measure supplier delivery performance and address opportunities. Performs other assignments as directed. We believe the successful candidate will have: Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Must have a continuous learning mindset to reflect from the past to make the future better. Ability to prioritize. Customer focus Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook Knowledge of production processes, purchasing processes, quality control and inventory management and supply chain concepts Self-motivated and able to work independently and in a team environment. Problem-solving mindset with the ability to make quick decisions under pressure. Educational Requirements: Education: Bachelor's Degree or 5+ years' planner/buyer/scheduler experience is preferred. Experience: JDE experience and advanced Excel knowledge preferred. Understanding of material requirement concepts. Strong communication, planning, organizational and analytical skills. Ability to problem solve and implement effective corrective actions. Proficient to advanced with MS Excel and proficient with MS Office (Word, Outlook) Be flexible enough to change with an ever-changing business environment. Success Measurements: 30 day Learn all JDE transactions relevant to the role (training will be provided) Complete Meet and Greets with most of the relevant stakeholders and understand what they are looking for from material planner and production scheduler. Spend enough time on the shop floor and understand the production processes. 60 day Start dating customer orders within 24 hours based on what is achievable from the production. Good understanding of production planning wheels and impact of changeovers in the plants. Form supplier relationships, understand issues and work on corrective action plans. Review backorder reports and understand the root causes of backorders. Understand plan for every part (histograms) and plan for purchased items. 90 day Engage customer service in creative solutions if and when backorders occur. Start to use histograms and knowledge of changeovers to produce an optimal schedule. Start to be self-sufficient for the most part on the production planning aspects of the job. Compensation for roles at AZEK varies depending on a wide range of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set and level of experience. The annual salary for this role in Wilmington, PA: $79,600 to $87,000.
