Responsibilities Position Profile: Manufacturing Engineer Job Code Description: Engineer-Manufacturing 3 Summary: The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for leading and coordinating activities related to manufacturing processes as they relate to Triumph Actuation Systems products. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 1. Proficient with the use of CREO or similar Cad software and working with part models. Ability to utilize computer to develop part geometry and subsequently develop CNC programs for all types of milling and turning centers to meet design to cost projections through application of proper speeds and feeds of recommended tooling. 2. Proficient in the use of ESPRIT or other Cam software to modify and or create CNC Programs and detailed setup information for turning lathes, Vertical and Horizontal Mills, and Mill Turn CNC Equipment. 3. Ability to evaluate and methodize products assuring maximized efficiency in machining environment. Provide technical leadership for machined processes such as turnkey machine installations, inspection and test equipment required in a shop environment and qualification of manufacturing equipment. 4. Proficient with OD / ID Grinding and programming. 5. Proficient with Fixture and Tooling Design required to support machining processes. 6. Familiar with commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the machining environment. Understands dimensional tolerancing the ability to assess product drawings for manufacturability. 7. Understands and applies manufacturing techniques such as SPC, 6S, Demand-Pull, PFEMA, KAN-BAN, Gage R&R, Six Sigma, GD&T and Lean concepts. 8. Responds promptly to process improvements by utilizing troubleshooting and problem solving techniques along with a high attention to detail and accuracy. 9. Supports machining requirements among all manufacturing disciplines; Engineering, Production, Assembly, Shop Floor and Quality to meet customer production schedules. 10. Contributes to team effort by maintaining a positive attitude. 11. Complies with all company policies and procedures, including safety requirements. 12. Other duties as assigned to ensure customer needs are met. Physical Requirements: Work may require sitting up to eight (8) hours per day, standing up to eight (8) hours per day, writing, extended work hours as needed and some travel. Qualifications Education Requirements: Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline or equivalent experience. Experience Preference: Seven (7) years as a manufacturing engineer with a strong technical background in CNC machining of various metals, within a low volume-high mix environment. Proficient with the use of geometric dimensioning, tolerancing principles, and various type of machine programming software. Key Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred: 1. Capital Expenditures and Justifications 2. Surface treatments 3. Military Specifications 4. SPC, JIT, 6S and Lean manufacturing 5. Team-oriented 6. Strong Problem solving 7. Creativity 8. ESPRIT CAM Software 9. Print reading/interpretation 10. Fixtures and tooling design 11. Methodizing/Process Improvements 12. GD&T 13. CREO 14. Proficient in ERP systems, routings, BOM’s. 15. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. 16. Knowledge of special processes, NDT functions, coatings, platings, heat treating etc.. 17. Experience creating Operation sheets and work instructions. Pursuant to International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”), applicants for SELECT positions will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship, U.S. Permanent Residence, or U.S. Immigration Status in order to meet the minimum qualifications for those select positions.
