Kuusakoski is actively hiring for a full time Manual Material Handler to support our recycling facility in Plainfield, IL. This is a first shift position, working from 5 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. with mandatory overtime 5 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. during busy weeks. What you will do: The Manual Material Handler is responsible for moving, sorting, dismantling, weighing, and documenting material. This is a cross functional role and you will be trained in other areas of the recycling process. Inspect an array of parts, determine its category, and place part into correct container: properly dismantle, identify material, remove non-recycle items /parts and report quality issues. Operate pallet jack. Properly use hand and power tools. Stack and store the materials in the appropriate areas. Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following policies and procedures. Maintains a clean and organized work area to facilitate plant operations. Keep appropriate records and reports, ensure daily totals are completed and accurate. Comply with OSHA and MSDS standards. Other duties as assigned, including general housekeeping. What you need to succeed: Must be able to lift/move up to 40 pounds, climb stairs, and work in sometimes tight spaces around machinery. Safety minded. Ability to build rapport with coworkers. Must have proven track record of reliability.
