Dorsey Schools' Waterford/Pontiac, MI campus seeks a full time Managing Director to join its team. This is a full time position with great benefits and competitive compensation. SUMMARY: The Managing Director assumes responsibility for total administration of school operations according to policies, procedures, and budget guidelines established by Dorsey Schools which are in part based upon regulations of regulatory and accreditation agencies, as applicable. Additionally, the Managing Director is responsible for adhering to the guidelines some programs operate under certain regulatory and accreditation agency policies. The Managing Director goals include, but are not limited to, ensuring students are provided the opportunity of a quality education, with both student retention and job placement metrics maximized. CRITICAL FUNCTIONS: Manage the selection, hiring, and supervision of faculty. Continual monitoring of instructional quality and professional development and growth of faculty. Scheduling and sequencing of classes in accordance with students needs, budget guidelines, and regulations of regulatory and accreditation agencies, as applicable. Responsible for the selection, hiring, and oversight of all campus staff to enable the school to operate effectively, efficiently, and meet budget goals as outlined annually. Provide training for staff and faculty to ensure ethical and compliant operations according to Dorsey Schools policies and procedures and regulatory and accreditation agency policies, as applicable. Responsible for documenting and maintaining accurate and complete campus records in compliance with Dorsey Schools policies and procedures and regulatory and accreditation agency policies, as applicable. Responsible to meet campus goals as set forth in quarterly and annual Institutional Effectiveness Planning meetings by strategically implementing new methods and utilizing key staff to aid in processes while adhering to Dorsey Schools policies and procedures and regulatory and accreditation agency policies, as applicable. Perform duties in cooperation and conjunction with Dorseys campus support center and staff, which are available as a resource to assist the Managing Director as needed and provide a monitoring function that ensures uniformity and compliance in operations of each campus; attend conference calls, meetings, and events as directed. Managing Director is responsible to notify his/her supervisor and the President/CEO of any substantial violation of any policy or procedure which could cause damage to Dorseys reputation and/or jeopardize continued operations, and in case of campus emergency. The Managing Director is responsible with his/her staff for maintenance of the physical plant to ensure that it provides a safe, clean and professional environment conducive to student recruitment, student training, and student retention. The physical plant should serve 2 major functions: (1) It is conducive to the learning process (2) The appearance of the building should maximize marketability of the schools by presenting a neat, orderly and business-like environment. All other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE SKILLS ABILITIES: Must display exceptional verbal and written correspondence skills as well as active listening; expertise to communicate well with staff and students. Must be able to effectively lead, motivate, and manage staff and teams. Must be reliable with strong time organizational skills and expertise to work well under pressure. Must be resourceful and able to problem solve; strong initiative and solid judgment. Must be able to handle sensitive and confidential details appropriately. Must be proficient with basic office equipment, computers, and computer applications including Ms office. Must have knowledge of overall school operations including: student recruitment and placement, school administration, adult education, financial aid, and regulatory and accreditation agency policies, as applicable. WORK CONDITIONS: Some travel required (0-25%). Extensive walking and standing (5-75%). May be required to work late and occasional weekends to support business needs. MIN REQUIREMENTS: A Bachelors degree and 2 yrs of management or proprietary school background is required; ten years of proprietary school background in a management capacity may be substituted. Min 3yrs of managerial experience. The applicant must demonstrate a history of effective leadership through teamwork and organization. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit for extended periods of time, and have sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate a phone, computer keyboard, and other office equipment.
