Under the direction of the Patient Financial Services Director, the Billing Manager is responsible for directing the Billing office staff to include, Billing, Collections, Customer Service, Cash Posting, and Denial Management. Coordinate the daily activities related to the planning, implementing and maintaining of all functions pertinent to the Billing Office areas. Responsible for continued improvement in staff through education and training. Must possess strong verbal and written communications skills as well as excellent customer service skills to work with internal and external areas. In conjunction with the Director, must be able to meet performance goals to include cash collections, A/R days, production by area, and denial reduction. Three years of healthcare industry experience with an emphasis in billing and collections. Two years of managerial responsibilities is preferred.Required Licensure or Certification* Bachelor's Degree in a related field, preferred.Required Length and Type of Experience* Minimum three years of hospital billing and collecting experience.* Minimum of two years of managerial experience.* Associate's degree or five years of billing experienceEducation, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities* Possess computer system knowledge with emphasis in Excel.* Knowledge of healthcare patient accounting and healthcare insurance coverage.* Confidential and strong communication skills, both verbal and written.* Knowledge of third party requirements, Medicare/Medicaid regulations, and electronic filing of claims.* Excellent customer service skills required to deal with internal and external customers.* Proper use of standard office equipment.Required Physical and Environmental Demands* Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
