MANAGER OF SLOT OPERATIONS STATUS: Full-time, Permanent FLSA: Exempt REPORTS TO: Director of Slot Operations SUPERVISES: All Operational Slot Personnel WORKING HOURS: This is a salaried exempt position. The incumbent is expected to devote such time and energy as is reasonably necessary to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. Position will require availability evenings, weekends, holidays and special events and will adhere to a schedule balanced to that of the Director of Slot Operations and the Manager of Slot Technicians . SUMMARY: Position assists in the overall management of the Slot Department focusing on Team Member morale, customer service, training, scheduling and operational efficiencies. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides superior Slot team leadership by adhering to the Team R.O.C.K. Philosophy, "Leadership Pledge" and "Core Leadership Qualities". Develops measurable Service Standards and ensures that they are exceeded. Manages the staffing and scheduling of all Slot Operational Team Members to ensure optimal service coverage. Develops relationships with as many slot players as possible to promote guest loyalty. Ensures compliance with all Slot Performance policies and procedures, and tribal and state casino regulations. Assists in developing short and long‑term strategies of Slot floor layout and machine mix to maximize the slot department profitability. Analyzes statistical data, customer habits, trends and machine usage. Assists with slot product placement and analysis. Conducts variance investigations. Assists with slot system (Bally/SDS) data entry. Assists technical team with game conversions, installations and troubleshooting. Assists in developing annual budgets and business plans. Shall make necessary staffing recommendations and assists with the interviewing of all applicants. Performs additional duties as assigned by the Director of Slot Operations. Acts as a role model and always present oneself as a credit to River Rock Casino and encourages others to do the same. Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, department and company policies and procedures. Attends all required meetings and training. Maintains confidentiality at all times. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the position. The Manager of Slot Operations must have a: Minimum of five (5) years of casino-related management experience Understanding of slot product, slot systems, and all related equipment Knowledge of casino rules, procedures and regulations pertaining to slot operations Strong communications, math, administrative and organizational skills Ability to learn and use all software available including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and a floor design program Ability to learn slot analysis, product purchase and placement SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies; responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, termination, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, reward and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems. EDUCATION: BA/BS degree required or combined education and equivalent experience LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Excellent oral and written communication skills are important to the successful conduct of this position. Ability to write accurate, grammatically correct, polished reports and business correspondence. Must be able to speak with the public in a professional manner. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to proactively streamline processes for company's return on investment. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to process detailed work and requests for information or assistance in a timely manner. Ability to apply regulatory and procedure doctrine, concepts, and policy to practical situations. LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS: Must possess a valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record. Must be able to obtain a gaming license from the Dry Creek Gaming Commission. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift and carry up to twenty-five (25) pounds. Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This is a fast paced, highly diverse work environment, and the position requires the ability to remain flexible and get along with all personality types. Must be able to manage a number of priorities simultaneously and meet deadlines. Must be able to respond calmly to customer concerns and questions.
