Description:
A NYC agency located in Manhattan, NY is looking for 2 Mainframe System Programmers for a long-term contract. Experience / Preferred Qualifications: * Must have Bachelor's degree or 10+ years of experience in relevant technical field. * The candidate must have experience with VTAM and TCP/IP. * 10+ years of experience working with z/OS, JES2, SMP/E, TSO, IOCP/HCD. Basic IBM utilities (IDCAMS, IEFBR14, etc.) program product installations, working knowledge or the IBM virtual tape system and Unix System Services. * Working knowledge of CICS, IMS, DB2 and AFP printing is a plus. * Experience in using monitoring tools such as OMEGAMON. * Working with an enterprise wide, large scale implementation. * Excellent communications skills (Oral and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills are required. * The candidate must have experience with mainframe CPU installs as a systems programmer consultant. Responsibilities: * Ongoing maintenance (install, patching, upgrades, administration, etc.,) of the mainframe z/OS operating system, accompanying storage systems and systems software products (e.g., database, transaction server, security management, scheduling, report distribution, etc.), and UNIX Systems Services. * Upgrades of mainframe and related storage. * The candidate will be required to provide production off hour coverage (if necessary) and support periodic weekend implementations.
