About the Role: Due to our continued growth and expansion plans we're recruiting for a Machinist - Lathe Turner to work alongside our existing teams at our fully equipped site with melting, rolling, heat treatment, grinding, straightening, cutting and testing capabilities. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of Sheffield's dynamic and long-standing companies - a key fixture in the Sheffield Steel industry! Key Tasks: Centre Lathe Turning: Safely load and unload the lathes with material to be turned. Setting and operation of manual and CNC lathes. Familiarity with Fanuc control systems required. Turning a wide range of materials, from 100mm (4') Ø to 700mm (27.5') Ø, in 1mtr to 4mtr lengths. Accurate and precise measurement using micrometres, verniers, gauges and callipers. Interpret/read engineering drawings and route card instructions correctly. Operator machine maintenance - pre-start checks, metalworking fluid checks, swarf removal, clean down etc. Act responsibly and safely at all times. Any other task as required by your manager. About you: You will be an experienced Machinist/Lathe Turner able to join the Pro-Roll team at our base in Sheffield within a few weeks, if not immediately.
