Description:
Machinist Job Description The machinist will be responsible for reading and interpreting technical blueprints, inputting the design specifications, generating and adjusting the machine cutting paths, and performing quality checks on the final product. You will also be required to perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the manufacturing process. The machinist will be working within the machine shop portion of Indy Honeycomb producing tooling and fixturing to aid in the manufacturing of metallic honeycomb as well as external customer demand.Responsibilities: Reading and interpreting technical blueprints and design models Loading raw materials into the CNC machine Programming from solid models using Fusion360 Machine setup to include: switching from a collet chuck to a 3 jaw on the lathe, making soft jaws for both the lathe and mill Setup vises on the mill as well as the ability to setup a 4 th axis rotary on the mill Prove out program as well as operate machine to run parts Make offsets accurately Choosing and loading the correct cutting tools for the job based off of dimensions and material type. Troubleshooting issues during the manufacturing process Completing quality control tests during the manufacturing stage and on the final product Cleaning and maintaining the machine (coolant level and concentration, grease refills, chip cleanout, and other day to day preventative maintenance) Ability to read and follow job routing instructions Understand and abide by ISO quality requirements Ability to read standard micrometers, depth micrometers, as well as setup and use dial bore gages Skillsets and Character Requirements: Ability to work independently and stick to a deadline Fluency with Fusion 360 CAD/CAM Fluency with Microsoft Office products and general computer literacy Hands on CNC machining experience with HAAS milling and turning centers (VF4SS 4-axis, VF2SS 3-axis, and ST25) Strong attention to detail High level of initiative Flexibility and willingness to perform all tasks Quality oriented 5S experience Tool and Die experience in sheet metal forming applications a plus Experience with a wide range of materials to include: tool steels, stainless steels, aluminum, as well as copper and tungsten copper a plus Powered by JazzHR
