Job Posting: LPN - Scheduling Coordinator (Full-time) Employment Type: Full-time Location: Washington Regional Medical Center - Fayetteville, AR Department: Scheduling Shift: Monday - Friday Days FTE: Job Number: JO-1906-38100 Date Posted: 6/12/2019 Categories: Licensed Nurses JOB OVERVIEW This position is responsible for coordination and scheduling of Imaging services, Infusion Center, Sleep Lab, Balance clinic and All imaging departments, for outpatients and works closely with the radiology nurses, imaging techs and infusion center staff. The position is responsible for coordinating all resource qualifications necessary for the services to be performed. Must possess the skill to negotiate with clinic and departments with an overall goal to reduce undo radiation exposure, obtain the correct exam at the correct time and correct site, and to ensure a safe environment of care for patients coming from outside facilities. The position supports pre-registration by obtaining pre-certification details from the clinic/office staff. The incumbent is responsible for assisting with resolution of medical necessity failures and informs clinics of the determination on ABN status. Queries will be made to clinics when code assignments are not strait forward or documentation in the record is inadequate, ambiguous, or unclear for coding purposes. The majority of work time is spent sitting (up to 80% of work time) while performing repetitive motions of hands/wrists/fingers utilizing computer keyboard. A variety of populations is served: infants, adolescents (up to 10% of work time), Adults (50%) and geriatrics (40%). LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED Unencumbered LPN License SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL AND SKILL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED Current LPN license. A good working expertise of hospital scheduling procedures as demonstrated by a min of at least 1 year of clinical nursing background. Background with ICD-10 and CPT codes and an understanding of medical necessity are helpful. Excellent negotiation and communications skills (verbal and written). Attention to detail good phone etiquette is a must.
