JOB DESCRIPTION We're looking for a detail oriented, technically inquisitive individual with strong interpersonal skills to help lead product development projects for Lithium Coin Batteries. Lithium Coin is the fastest growing category in Duracell and a key part of the Duracell growth strategy. As a Senior Researcher in Product Development, you will work hands on in the Bethel prototype labs in integrate new materials, technologies, and processes to meet the product design requirements. It is an ideal position for someone who wants to gain fundamental understanding of battery technology.RESPONSIBILITIES * The candidate will help lead product development activities for Lithium Coin batteries. * Take technical direction from the Lithium Primary Senior Research Fellow and be an active member of the product development and formulation team. * Partner with process development, prototyping, engineering, QA and others to deliver product design documentation and prototypes to meet the initiative deliverables. * The candidate will help lead product qualification activities in the lab and remotely in the factory to deliver qualification tasks. * Join initiative delivery team to meet the performance, quality, reliability, and schedule requirements. * Work hands on in the labs as necessary to prototype products and submit to safety, performance, and quality testing. * Summarize learning and make recommendations on product design. * Manage the cell design spread sheet, summary of product prototype learning and capabilities to test product performance. * Maintain product formula cards for existing and new lithium coin initiatives. * Other Duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Engineering, Mechanical technology, or related field. * Hands on laboratory experience. * Experience in prototyping batteries and/or battery manufacturing processes is a plus. * Background and experience in statistical data analysis. * Willingness to travel domestically and internationally to understand and support product development if needed. * Willingness to participate in and sometimes lead evening meetings with international partners in Asia and Europe in needed. Job Qualifications: * Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative R&D learning organization. * Demonstrated ability to collaborate in a diverse cultural and functional environment (strong, dependable, and accountable team player) * Technically curious, self-motivated, productive, and efficient. * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. * Able to focus on delivering one's own objectives while assisting others on theirs. * Ability to conduct both quantitative and qualitative research / lab work to support R&D efforts. * Excellent record keeping and documentation skills with strong attention to detail. * Ability to organize and present data in a clear, concise manner using software such as Excel or equivalent. * Good oral and written skills to communicate results, objectives, status, and recommendations.
