Inova Health System is seeking a LPN / LVN ED - Emergency Department for a job in Falls Church, Virginia. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ED - Emergency Department Discipline: LPN / LVN Start Date: ASAP Duration: Ongoing Shift: days Employment Type: Staff The Clinical Technician 3 maintains competencies within Licensed Practical Nurse scope of practice and seek opportunities to develop professionally. Demonstrates a knowledge of quality improvement initiatives and participate in performance improvement activities. Utilizes the nursing process to provide direct patient care to patients whose care requirements are routine and standardized with predictable outcomes. Practices under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse while assisting the healthcare team to achieve desired patient outcomes.Job Responsibilities- Demonstrates a knowledge of unit based quality improvement initiatives.- Provides direct patient care utilizing the nursing process under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse.- Reviews diagnostic test results and reports abnormal results and changes in patient condition to the Registered Nurse, physician and appropriate healthcare team members in a timely manner.- Collaborates with the Registered Nurse on the execution of patient plans.- Assists with patient education and discharge planning under the direction of the Registered Nurse.- Evaluates and maintains the patient care environment to promote safety.- Collaborates with the Registered Nurse and healthcare team to advocate for the clinical, emotional, ethical, spiritual and cultural needs of patients.- Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.- May perform additional duties as assigned.Additional RequirementsCertification - Basic Life Support upon startLicensure - Licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Licensed Practical Nurse upon startEducation - Vocational / Technical Nursing Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse school.
