Description:
A facility in Belleville, IL is looking for a locum tenens Gastroenterologist to assist with inpatient coverage starting January 13th. The facility is located in Belleville, IL. Starting January 13, 2025, two weeks of coverage will be needed monthly. The schedule will consist of 24-hour on-call duty with 8 hours of patient contact daily, and callback hours after the 8-hour shift. The facility offers onsite lab and X-ray services and uses EPIC/Provation for GI procedure documentation. Required procedures include esophageal dilatation, small bowel biopsy, various GI endoscopies (sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy), and managing a Sengstaken/Blakemore tube. Upper GI endoscopies will involve biopsies, foreign body removal, bleeder cauterization, variceal banding, ERCP (both diagnostic and therapeutic), and PEG placement. Board certification or eligibility with a set exam date, an Illinois state license, and COVID vaccination are mandatory.
