It is an exciting time here at Wilmington College. Wilmington College is seeking a Livestock Judging Coach for the 2025 season, beginning January 13, 2025 for a 9-month contract. This position is responsible for all aspects of the livestock judging program. The coach will be responsible for the recruitment, training and advancement of a competitive livestock judging team. This is a limited-time, part-time position with varied hours. Essential functions: Assist in the recruitment of students for the Wilmington College Livestock Judging Team and Agriculture Program. Oversee the Livestock Judging Team by coordinating team practices utilizing community and industry resources to coach team members in all species. Responsible for teaching the Livestock Judging course (2 credit hours) spring semester. Obtain membership in the National Collegiate Livestock Coaches' Association. Work with Agriculture faculty and the Business Office to develop budgets to facilitate team practice, team travel, and team competitions. Work with the Advancement Office to develop funding opportunities through alumni, community, industry and donor relations. Develop and promote a positive image of the program to the team members, college and community. Minimum Qualifications: Demonstrate knowledge of livestock judging. Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and good sportsmanship in competitive events. B.S. in Animal Science or related Agriculture degree. Industry experience preferred Livestock judging and coaching experience preferred Possess a valid driver's license, clean driving record and drive according to the Wilmington College Physical Plan policies.
