Zurich is currently looking to add a Paralegal for its Staff Legal Office in San Francisco, CA. Under the supervision of an attorney, this role provides legal support such as legal and documentary research; drafting legal documents, correspondence and pleadings; maintaining and updating files; monitoring case schedules and filing deadlines; conducting interviews; summarizing depositions, medical records, and other discovery. Their work will be in support of moderate to complex Construction Defect and General Liability litigation cases (e.g. case work, research, subpoenas, etc.). https://zurich.taleo.net/careersection/jobdetail.ftl?job=190000S1&lang=en The preferred applicant resume will demonstrate background with insurance defense litigation support work in California. Minimum qualifications: Associates Degree and two or more years of background in the Legal or Legal Support area OR Zurich approved Apprenticeship program including an Associate Degree and two or more years of background in the Legal or Legal Support AND Background conducting electronic database research Background drafting legal documents, correspondence, and/or pleadings Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors degree Insurance industry background desired One or more professional certifications: CORE Registered Paralegal (CRP) PACE Registered Paralegal (PRP) Certified Paralegal (CP) Certified Legal Assistant (CLA) Professional Paralegal (PP) Strong expertise to effectively conduct electronic database research, including LexisNexis, WestLaw, and/or NILS Highly effective written and spoken communication; expertise to summarize info clearly and concisely Excellent technical skills, including Microsoft office suite (Ms word, Microsoft excel, PowerPoint) Demonstrated expertise to effectively organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines for multiple, simultaneous projects Demonstrated expertise to successfully work unaided as well as within a team Previous background in litigation legal support and familiarity with litigation management software Imagine working for a company that truly cares about their employees, customers, stakeholders, and communities they serve.
