This hybrid position offers an exciting opportunity to handle a diverse range of business, employment, and defamation litigation matters. The ideal candidate will be a skilled trial lawyer with the ability to manage cases independently, while still benefiting from training and support as needed. The firm values self-sufficiency and a collaborative approach to client service.Duties:Represent clients in a variety of litigation matters, including business disputes, employment issues, and defamation claims.Manage cases independently, from pre-litigation strategy to trial preparation and resolution.Handle all aspects of litigation, including legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.Appear in state and federal courts in Virginia, presenting cases and advocating for clients in hearings and trials.Communicate directly with clients to understand their needs and provide legal counsel.Work with junior attorneys and provide guidance or supervision when necessary.Maintain an organized case file system and meet all deadlines and procedural requirements.Collaborate with other attorneys and team members to develop case strategies and share expertise.Requirements:A minimum of 3 years of experience practicing law in Virginia.Experience handling litigation in both Virginia state and federal courts.Ability to manage cases independently with minimal supervision.A fully functional home office setup, including a PC, printer, scanner, and Zoom capabilities.No history of disciplinary action in any jurisdiction.Strong trial advocacy skills and experience in business, employment, or defamation matters preferred.Education:Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.Certifications:Admission to the Virginia State Bar is required.Skills:Proven ability to manage and litigate complex cases independently.Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.Ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.Self-motivated and highly organized with the ability to meet deadlines.Experience in business, employment, or defamation law is highly desirable.Proficiency in legal technology tools, including Zoom and document management systems.Benefits:Hybrid work environment, offering flexibility.Opportunities for professional growth and development.Health and wellness benefits.Paid time off and holidays.
