Our client is looking for an Associate to join the Restructuring/Litigation/Workout practice at our Chicago office. The ideal candidate will have three to four years of experience in workouts and restructuring, commercial litigation, bankruptcy, corporate law, or finance law.Desired experience includes: Representing financial institutions and senior secured lenders in corporate bankruptcies, out-of-court workouts/restructurings, enforcement proceedings, contract disputes, avoidance actions, and other types of commercial litigation Advising clients on Uniform Commercial Code, federal and state regulatory compliance, and consumer and institutional regulatory compliance matters Conducting mediations, expert and lay witness depositions, and representing clients in hearings Drafting and negotiating restructuring documents, DIP financing agreements, and forbearance agreements Negotiating and preparing settlement agreements Qualifications: Candidates must be a member in good standing or eligible to waive into the Illinois Bar. Impressive academic credentials The ability to simultaneously negotiate and manage multiple cases and competing work demands Strong interpersonal, analytical, oral communication, research, writing, editing, proofreading, and organizational skills Superior negotiating skills Strong advocacy and motions practice skills An understanding of business, industry, and market issues Availability to work during non-standard hours and to work long hours when necessary.
