This role is ideal for candidates looking to engage in a collaborative, team-driven environment, handling various phases of litigation and contributing to the firm’s commitment to client advocacy and excellence.Duties:Formulate and implement defense strategies for commercial and municipal defense litigation cases.Conduct a thorough analysis of claims and legal defenses.Work closely with senior attorneys and partners to develop comprehensive case strategies.Draft and present various types of motions, including dismissal motions, discovery motions, and summary judgments.Prepare and respond effectively to discovery requests.Conduct and defend client depositions.Engage in pre-trial and trial preparation.Maintain consistent and transparent communication with clients, providing timely updates and insights on case developments.Requirements:Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in litigation, emphasizing commercial litigation and municipal defense.Proven ability to draft and argue motions, manage discovery processes, and conduct depositions.Demonstrated research, writing, and analytical proficiency.Capacity to work independently while also excelling in a team environment.Previous trial experience is advantageous but not mandatory.Having an existing book of business is a plus.Education:Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.Active and in good standing with the Michigan Bar.Certifications:Valid and active Michigan Bar license.Skills:Exceptional legal research and writing skills.Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.Effective communication skills for client interactions and teamwork.Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines with precision.Job Location:Birmingham, MI Founded in the mid 1920s, this Michigan-based law firm is committed to delivering skilled legal counsel and exceptional legal service to individuals, small businesses, and large publicly held corporations.
