Lead Operator - Night Shift

Description:
Operators will monitor, maintain and operate the coater machine in a safe and efficient manner. This current schedule is: Monday - Thursday; 6pm - 6am. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES As a Lead Operator, you will be expected to comply with all company safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping requirements on the production floor. Your role involves monitoring and troubleshooting machines and processes by checking running conditions such as output speed, pressure, temperatures, and wind and unwind tensions to ensure quality and production goals are met. You will be responsible for recording production, efficiency, scrap, and other key performance metrics, as well as conducting quality checks as required. You will actively participate in developing new work methods and procedures to improve productivity, reduce scrap, and minimize downtime. Additionally, you will make informed decisions with input or advice from the supervisor regarding line speed, product quality adjustments, machine maintenance, directions and instructions, temperature settings, new product specifications, changes, and running conditions. As a Lead Operator, you will directly oversee the activities of the Assistant Operator and Material Handlers. You will instruct and train team members, assign tasks, and review and monitor the quality and accuracy of their work. In addition, you will plan the team's workflow and provide guidance, advice, and coaching to ensure optimal performance. You will also be responsible for orienting new employees, helping them integrate smoothly into the team. QUALIFICATIONS A high school diploma or equivalent is required; two-year certification in a technical school, engineering or processing is strongly desired. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment or prior related experience is necessary. Ability to understand, troubleshoot and optimize various manufacturing processes is a must.
