SEEKING LAW CLERK WITH EXCELLENT WRITING SKILLS FOR INTERNET DEFAMATION/FIRST AMENDMENT LAW FIRM Do you have a passion for the First Amendment, Social Media and Defamation law? So do we! We are a law firm with offices in New York and New Jersey seeking a great writer with Law School Journal experience who loves this area of the law. Prior law firm experience is a must. The successful applicant has prior firm experience drafting complex briefs for a law firm or law school clinic, and an understanding of the issues presented in defamation litigation and emerging social media issues. The successful applicant will have direct contact with our client base of social media content creators, victims of internet defamation and companies and individuals in need of protection from internet attacks and reputation management. We have an opening for a law clerk position and we need top talent! You will research case law and prepare memoranda on a variety of legal issues, related to our practice in this emerging and exciting area of the law. Responsibilities: • Draft legal memoranda with results of research in order to assist with the strategy for court proceedings• Type the first drafts of legal documents, such as motions, briefs, pleadings, discovery requests/responses• Research case law to confirming legal authority cited in legal documents to assist judges and attorneys• Communicate with clients, interview witnesses, and consult legal experts in order to prepare for trial Qualifications: • Recent law school graduate or current law school student with an undergraduate degree• Willing to take, or have already passed state bar exam• Candidates must have great writing skills and communication skills to be able to argue effectively• Exhibit strong work ethic and attention to detail• Minimum one year of experience working in the legal industry Compensation: $25+ hourly DOE About Company: We are a growing and dynamic firm practicing cutting edge Social Media Law, Constitutional Law, Internet Defamation, Personal Injury, and Employment.
