As a Large Tractor Cab & Body Design and Development Engineer , you will design new products and processes, as well as improve/maintain existing products for the Case IH and New Holland CCH [Cash Crop High] and 4WD agricultural tractors manufactured at the Racine, WI and Fargo, ND plants. The successful candidate will have responsibility, as a mechanical design engineer within the cab and body team, for "end to end" ownership and design leadership of projects focused on hood, fenders, roof, and related component mounting. We seek candidates that have experience in any of the following systems: Cab and Operator Environment, Hoods Grilles and Engine Enclosures, Exterior Non-Metallic Materials & Design, Structures and Weldments, Mechanical Linkages, or other general on or off-road vehicle engineering systems. Knowledge of engine installation, airflow and cooling. Candidate must have strong leadership and communication skills to ensure a successful fit. Responsibilities: Design, develop, and support the integration of components and/or subsystems for tractors consistent with program objectives including creating concepts, prototype support, field validation, and activities necessary to support launch of new product programs. Duties include identifying and resolving design issues that result in assembly or warranty issues, meeting all release dates and schedules. Utilize advanced modeling, design tools, and statistical methods to analyze data and other information. Utilize Pro/E Creo as a tool to implement solutions. Direct workload and utilize agency resources when required to complete designs. Conduct design calculations, complete analysis, consider design trade-offs, recommend design concepts/directions, and lead design reviews during the development process to ensure designs meet requirements, are cost effective, manufacturable, and meet quality targets. This could include defining technical requirements, test methods, resource requirements, scheduling, as well as leading design reviews and actively participating in Safety Analysis and DFMEAs. Communicate with management, engineering team, platform, production, and marketing staff utilizing effective proactive engineering tools and trade off analysis to determine design feasibility, cost effectiveness, and customer acceptance for new and current products. Collaborate with manufacturing team to coordinate the design review and DFM/DFA processes, ensure manufacturing understanding, incorporate manufacturing feedback, and ensure successful industrialization of the completed design. Provide assistance with prototype builds. Develop and execute virtual and physical risk mitigation plans. Resolve design issues and implement solutions that can be contained within program timing. Actively engage in field operations to better understand customer applications and current/future best practices. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Agricultural, or Automotive Engineering 6 plus years of prior work experience in design and product development of on-road or off-road vehicles/equipment 3 plus years of Pro/E CREO, Solidworks or equivalent modeling experience This position is eligible for HYBRID flexible work arrangements!
