We are currently looking for a full-time Landscape Supervisor. This position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the landscape crews. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Ensures the assigned daily work schedule runs smoothly and is completed. Makes ground care decisions such as cutting height, pruning, plant spacing, fertilizing, applying insecticides, and erosion control. Develop plans and procedures for the completion of landscape activities. Supervision of Inmate Crews. Prepare and maintain all required records and reports to include hourly labor performed by landscape workers. Train personnel on safety rules and regulations, equipment operation, equipment maintenance, and proper landscape procedures. Supervise contractors and vendors relating to landscaping and grounds. Education and Experience: Associate degree in horticulture or a combination of technical training and work. High school graduates may substitute 5 years of direct, relevant experience. Experienced in supervising a crew, experience in landscaping, and maintenance of grounds. Knowledge of heavy equipment operation is a plus. Must possess a valid South Carolina Driver's License, and be insurable by the agency's Fleet Insurance carrier. Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which, in the sole determination of Spartanburg Housing, provides the required knowledge and abilities, may be considered sufficient.
