JOIN OUR TEAM AS A JUNIOR OR SENIOR CONSTRUCTION INSPECTOR FOR VDOT BRIDGE PROJECTS EBA Engineering, Inc. (EBA) is seeking talented junior and senior Construction Inspectors to join our team to work on bridge projects within VDOT's Culpeper District! YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES: In your role as a Construction Inspector, your primary duties will include: Perform thorough inspections of roadway reconstruction, rehabilitation, and maintenance projects, including concrete curb, gutter, and sidewalk reconstruction; ADA upgrade; and guardrail replacement/installation Communicating inspection findings through clear and concise written reports and verbal communication. Applying mathematical principles, including algebra and geometry, to perform accurate measurements and calculations. Using materials testing equipment to assess quality and durability. Preparing and maintaining project records using contract management and Microsoft 365 software. CORE REQUIREMENTS: To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and abilities: A valid driver's license and clean driving record A high school diploma or a high school equivalent certification Strong communication skills, both oral and written Proficiency in mathematics, including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry Ability to use materials testing equipment effectively Competence in personal computers (Windows and MS Office applications) and project/contract management software Able to lift up to 50 pounds Able to walk over rough and uneven terrain; stand for up to 12 hours a day on occasion; and perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, kneeling, and twisting; using hands to grasp and reach; raising hands above the head; sitting; climbing; and balancing Able to work in various weather conditions and terrains ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician Grade I and VDOT Intermediate Work Zone Traffic Control & Flagger certifications PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: Prior experience with Virginia Department of Transportation Prior bridge project experience If you're ready to take on the challenge of working on critical bridge projects and developing your career with a respected firm, we want to hear from you!
