Junior Data Analyst to join our team at the Vancouver, BC office for a full-time position. The ideal candidate will have the following At a minimum, a technical diploma/certificate in Data Analytics or Data Science, or equivalent experience Experience working with environmental analytical data, including water quality, geochemical, biological, and climate data sets Experience in database management and administration using an RDBMS such as MS Access or My SQL Working knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, R or VBA Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Working knowledge of data visualization software such as Power BI/Tableau or similar, Power Query, Excel Data Model, Sigmaplot, R, or Python Excellent communication skills for interfacing with team members with diverse technical backgrounds Key responsibilities of the position Process and distill large datasets to be used as technical summaries and/or inputs to numerical simulation models Analyze data and produce summaries for further interpretation Compare data against various regulatory criteria Apply new technologies to current processes for effective data management Develop and apply programmatic methods to analysis and visualization Visualize data in various formats such as dashboards, plots, and charts Administer and update databases populated with multi-disciplinary environmental data Perform Quality Assurance/Control on data and liaise with analytical labs, field staff and/or technical staff to resolve issues Assist other team members as appropriate or directed Assets beneficial for this role A Bachelors degree in environmental sciences or a related field Environmental consulting experience Basic knowledge of ESRI Arc GIS or Auto CAD Web application development using Java Script frameworks, ASP. NET or similar technologies IT experience with basic networking, operating Microsoft Server 2019, ESET, Forticlient, Licensing server software, proficiency in Windows 11, Office 365 deployment and administration.
