Acts as a Liaison between physician, family, and other interdepartmental units. Collaborates with team members to collect data pre/post-procedure and prepare patients for procedures in CVIR. Participates with team members in unit assignment quality assurance projects. Provides high-quality imaging using various modalities including neurovascular and endovascular angiography examinations.Responsibilities:- Demonstrates advanced knowledge of equipment and shares information with peers.- Provides direction and guidance to others regarding practice while serving as a resource, preceptor, and mentor.- Demonstrates an ability to provide a departmental charge role by triaging workflow, assigning rooms and staffing for daily cases.- Possesses an advanced knowledge of sterile techniques and assists/supports Interventional Radiologists during procedures.- Notifies the manager of potential safety hazards and follows through on all corrective decisions. Immediately recognizes adverse clinical situations and helps other personnel to do so.- Assists RNs to accurately explain procedures to patients and families to ease anxiety. Extends additional support to patients, family members, and other staff.Requirements:- Certification - Basic Life Support Instructor; American Board of Radiology - Diagnostic Medical Physics BLS, ARRT, Vascular Interventional (VI) or Cardiovascular (CV).BLS; ARRT registry in Vascular Interventional (VI), Cardiovascular (CV) or Cardiovascular Interventional (CI) required .BLS; ARRT registry in Vascular Interventional (VI), Cardiovascular (CV) or Cardiovascular Interventional (CI) required. Must have completed the Inova ACHIEVE program for IR Tech 4.BLS; ARRT registry in Vascular Interventional (VI), Cardiovascular (CV) or Cardiovascular Interventional (CI) required. Must have completed the Inova ADVANCE program for IR Tech 4.- Licensure - Tradesman Commonwealth of Virginia Licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Radiologic Technologist is required only if the position is located in a free-standing center not affiliated with an Inova Health System hospital.- Experience -Five years of work experience as a Cardiovascular Interventional Radiology Technologist.- Education - Vocational / Technical Radiologic Technology Graduate of an accredited school of RadiographyInova Job ID #661099.
