Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8:00 am- 1:00 pm Pay: BOE Job Location: Russellville, AR Position Type : Part Time Education Level : High School Diploma or Equivalent SUMMARY - Responsible for listening to, understanding, and translating spoken or written statements of non-English speaking families and clients in relation to direct and indirect care and education of children. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Answer and receive telephone calls; greet and assist visitors; respond to inquiries and provide general information and assistance to families. Serve as an interpreter for evaluations, conferences, parent meetings, and other special events Maintain confidentiality of sensitive and privileged information Perform a variety of administrative assistant such as filing materials, typing correspondence, forms, and other materials Works cooperatively with parents/staff members to insure positive, productive atmosphere. Works cooperatively with various departments within the preschool to ensure families/clients receive translation/interpreting to meet family's needs. Completes all ITP, evaluations, and related documents in native language caseload within required timelines. Meets with ITP team member for the purpose of planning pre/post conferences and providing debriefing. Acts as role model for FCC employees on proper cultural family values, beliefs, and disciplinary techniques for children based on family's culture. Maintains "Neutral Attitude" when interpreting for FCC - is polite/accommodating with parents, family members, and FCC employees. Assures Quality Standards of Care for Early Childhood programs is met. See Attachment. Directly supervises children when necessary Actively engages with children. Actively participates in weekly, monthly, and annual staff meetings as arranged by supervisor. Attends all training activities as required by Administration, licensing units, and/or supervisor. Participates in minimum 15 hours in-house and/or outside Early Childhood training annually as required, including out-of-town/overnight travel as required. Reports any abuse/neglect signs to a supervisor as soon as possible after discovery. Follows chain of command at all times by reporting to immediate supervisor for all issues. Follows FCC Policy/Procedures manual and minimum licensing requirements for childcare centers at all times Complies with all DHS regulations contained within DHS Handbook. Other duties may be assigned Maintains confidentiality of all information received regarding Friendship Community Care, Inc., and the clients. Conditions of confidentiality shall be in compliance with Friendship Community Care Non-Disclosure Policy and HIPPA Policies. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one‑ and small-group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. QUALITY ASSURANCE & COMPLIANCE: To adhere to the following and comply with all Quality Assurance's & HIPAA procedures: The Code of Conduct and Compliance Investigation Procedures as read and discussed in the new employee training must be followed at all times. Consumers' progress notes be maintained and completed daily or as needed on the prescribed forms. Consumers' records must be maintained weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly. All information must be filed in consumers' records as needed and updated as prescribed by funding sources.
