Tennant Company is currently seeking an Intermediate Machinist to work third shift from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am Sunday night through Friday morning. This role is responsible for successful operation of machining operations and producing quality parts. We are currently offering a 5,000 Sign On Bonus for the role. GENERAL RESPONISIBILITIES: :Set up and operate a variety of machine tools including but not limited to manual lathes, mills, and drill presses, to produce precision parts and instruments. :Fabricate, modify, or repair mechanical instruments. :Process is easily repeatable, requiring a low amount of troubleshooting and adjustment to yield a quality product.:Read engineering blueprints, and measuring devices such as caliper, micrometer, and other gauges used in machining:Continuous Improvement::Focus on continuous improvement. Acts as agent of change on the shop floor by influencing peers.:Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments. :Fabricate, modify, or repair mechanical instruments. May also fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools and maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, mathematics, metal properties, layout and machining procedures.:Process requires some troubleshooting and adjustment to build a quality product.:Performing tooling and programming prove:outs with manufacturing engineering. :Safely set:up and operate a CNC Vertical Machining Center OR CNC Lathe while achieving and maintaining established quality and efficiencies standards.:Make parts to meet the qualifications of Design and Manufacturing Engineering using proper tooling, inspection equipment and through proper set:up and operation of equipment.:Measure, examine, and test completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments. NECESSARY BACKGROUND and EDUCATION: :H.S. Diploma or Equivalent and Technical degree and two or more years of machinist backgroundOR :5 or more years machinist background:Machinist certificate preferred:Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship REQUIRED PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS: :Requires standing 90 of shift:Frequent bending, twisting, squatting, and lifting with arms extended:Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds. Average part weighs five : 15lbs:Requires good manual dexterityENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURES: :Hearing and vision protection required in all areas:Safety shoes required in all areas:Exposure to oil, grease, dust, metal particles, sparks, sharp edged materialsSAFETY QUALIFICATIONS: :Exposed to hazards/risks that require body protection (gloves, pants, steel toes, sleeves, safety glasses, etc.).
