This position is ideal for an attorney with 2+ years of experience in insurance defense, including personal injury, property damage, and various other liability claims. The successful candidate will work on a broad range of litigation matters, including product liability, toxic torts defense, construction litigation, and premises liability, while enjoying a flexible, hybrid work environment. Candidates admitted to practice in MD and other jurisdictions, such as DC, VA, and PA, are encouraged to apply.Duties:Represent clients in insurance defense matters, focusing on personal injury, property damage, and general liability claims.Manage a caseload of complex legal issues related to product liability, construction litigation, toxic torts, transportation law, and premises liability.Research and analyze complicated legal matters, providing strategic insights and solutions.Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, memoranda, and other legal documents.Prepare for and handle court appearances, client meetings, depositions, and hearings.Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to ensure efficient case management and timely completion of tasks.Regularly communicate with clients to provide updates on case progress and strategy.Requirements:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Active membership in the Maryland Bar is required.Admission to other jurisdictions such as DC, VA, or PA is a plus.2+ years of litigation experience, with a focus on insurance defense, personal injury, and property damage claims.Experience in construction litigation, toxic torts, product liability, transportation law, and premises liability is highly desirable.Strong academic background with excellent research, writing, and communication skills.Ability to work independently while managing multiple cases in a fast-paced environment.Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Certifications:Active Maryland State Bar membership (or eligibility for reciprocity from other jurisdictions such as DC or VA).Skills:Strong experience in insurance defense and general liability litigation.Proficiency in drafting and reviewing complex legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery.Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.Strong oral advocacy skills and the ability to represent clients in court proceedings.Ability to manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining attention to detail.Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with a proven ability to meet deadlines.Benefits:Competitive salary with performance-based bonuses.Health, dental, and vision insurance coverage.Long-term and short-term disability (LTD/STD) and life insurance benefits.Employee-funded 401(k) and employer-funded pension plan.Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA).Annual performance reviews and bonus opportunities.Access to a free fitness center and bike storage.Convenient location near Light Rail and MARC Train stations.
