The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in insurance law and a strong background in policy analysis, litigation, and regulatory inquiries. This position involves client communication, legal research, and handling both litigation and advisory tasks. Candidates should be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple responsibilities independently.Duties and Responsibilities:Analyze complex insurance and reinsurance policies to assess legal coverage issues.Draft detailed insurance coverage opinions and respond to regulatory inquiries.Communicate with clients, providing coverage recommendations and legal advice.Draft pleadings, motions, and written discovery documents.Independently manage a caseload with the ability to work both autonomously and under supervision.Conduct comprehensive legal research on coverage and regulatory matters.Attend depositions, and court hearings, and participate in motion practices.Ensure client relationships are maintained with a high standard of communication and compliance with client guidelines.Meet all deadlines and accurately maintain billable hours records.Requirements:Minimum of 3 years of experience in insurance coverage or related legal areas (reinsurance, regulatory).Proven experience in analyzing insurance policies and handling litigation tasks such as motions, discovery, and depositions.Ability to independently manage cases and provide strategic legal advice.Exceptional writing, research, and analytical skills, with attention to detail and error-free work.Admitted to practice law in the State of New York; additional admission in PA, NJ, or CT is a plus.Federal Court experience is a plus.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative approach to team environments.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Certifications:Admitted to the New York State Bar (or other relevant jurisdictions, if applicable).Skills:Advanced proficiency in legal research and writing.Expertise in insurance coverage analysis and related litigation tasks.Ability to understand and navigate complex legal documents and policies.Client-focused with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Proactive, reliable, and able to manage competing priorities effectively.Job Location: Garden City, NY, USBenefits:Comprehensive health and life insurance coverage.Short-term and long-term disability insurance.401(k) retirement plan with employer contributions.Paid time off, including vacation, holidays, and sick leave.Flexible work options to support work-life balance.
